Silly Shirts - Part 1

It may be no surprise to some of you that I am critical.  I am critical of a lot of things. Which can be a good thing and it can lead me to sin sometimes.  We are to examine everything and hold fast to that which is good.  (1 Thess. 5:21-22)

One of my favorite things to do is to mock and poke fun at the dumb things that we Christians do.

We are so desperate, it seems, to reach people, for the sake of reaching them, that we will do really dumb things.  Now, I am all for being relevant, missional, flexible, organic blah blah blah…whatever you want to call it.   However, I am not up for being irreverent for the sake of being ‘missional.’

We do need to have a flexible methodology to our outreach but our theology cannot change.  And if our methodology leads to a muddy or even silly view of our theology, I will say that our methods must change.

So…in good fun (and sheer enjoyment of the silliness), I am going to feature a Silly “Christian” T-shirt every day this week. (I am not sure how these shirts placed their hope in the Gospel, but that is another discussion)

This first one, was emailed to my phone by Cody Robertson.  His words were, “Why!?  Why!?”

What do you think? This one kind of made me angry…just a little. But I did laugh.
